Bilfinger SE significantly enhances operational efficiencies with FrontRange HEAT Client Management

HEAT Client Management enables the company to minimize personnel costs and reduce time and resources required for software deployment

Milpitas, Calif. | October 7, 2014 — FrontRange today announced that Bilfinger group, an international engineering company and provider of technical, commercial, and infrastructure services for the construction industry, process industries, and utility companies, has chosen HEAT Client Management for worldwide deployment. This will enable the company to minimize personnel costs and significantly reduce the time and resources required for software deployment and upgrading. Bilfinger SE (Bilfinger Berger AG, until 2012) provides services for the maintenance and modernization of plants, primarily in the sectors oil and gas, refineries, petrochemicals, chemicals and agro-chemicals, power generation, and steel and aluminum.

Services range from consulting and engineering to insulation and scaffolding. The company dates back to 1880 and today comprises nearly 800 subsidiaries. It is headquartered in Mannheim, Germany. Before starting to globally adopt HEAT Client Management, many of the company’s subsidiaries were using manual procedures to deploy software resulting in frequent on-site service requests. HEAT Client Management now allows administrators to deploy operating systems, applications, updates and patches from a central location. This, and the high degree of automation made possible by the HEAT software, means that the number of on-site engineer visits can be significantly reduced, saving time and resources.

Also, HEAT Client Management helps with quality assurance allowing the replication of pilot installations that have been thoroughly tested before they are deployed into production. In addition, patches and updates can be selectively deployed, skipped, or removed. “Introducing FrontRange’s HEAT Client Management, we were able to save a lot of time during our standardization and deployment efforts,” explains Torsten Pfeiffer, Infrastructure Architect, Bilfinger. “As for the future, we plan to integrate other modules of HEAT Client Management, as well as HEAT Service Management, with the Desktop and Server Management module currently in use.” “Bilfinger SE is a longstanding and loyal FrontRange customer, so we are particularly pleased that the company has now decided to add further FrontRange HEAT solutions to its software landscape,” adds Anton Kreuzer, Managing Director, FrontRange Germany.
